The London Sock Exchange

Socks will not change the world. They can make a person smile. Founded by Dan Zell in 2014, The London Sock Exchange has been set on exactly that. This independent British design studio specializes in socks that are witty, fairly priced, and made with sustainability in mind.

Everything is conceived in-house, then made with manufacturers of a similar mind. Each sock is knit on 200 needles for a finer, stronger finish, and finished by hand for a seamless fit. A single pair, a gift box, or the subscription: the house does not cut corners. They are ready to talk with anyone who wants to know more, or simply to say hello.

Where design carries commercial weight

The London Sock Exchange is known for exclusive collaborations, with partners such as the UK Underground and James Bond, and for themed collections that confirm the label as the place for “dad socks” done properly.

As Shopify specialists, Michèle Victoria (MuseVision) built the site on Shopify. The platform suits a fashion startup and a major international house alike, because it scales, with multiple languages and currencies. Custom code lets each new site be shaped to the client.

The design of the site took about 12 weeks. It began with a discovery meeting, to clarify the vision of Dan and his team, then moved to wireframes that set out the experience. Once those were approved, the team built the site and launched it.

After launch, Michèle Victoria (MuseVision) kept refining the site, adding subscription and gifting. The London Sock Exchange has since grown quickly, and is changing how a customer discovers a product and comes back for it.
